What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

TJ loves the freedom he feels when he runs onto the football field. He says he feels unstoppable! Football challenges him to push his abilities and become better every day. Most importantly, he loves being part of a team. He understands that no one player wins a game alone it takes everyone working together, encouraging one another, and giving their best. For TJ, football is about having fun, growing, and accomplishing something together.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

TJ’s greatest inspiration is his mother. He watched her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later return to school to build a better future for their family. Even when it was difficult, she never gave up and eventually became a nurse. Her determination taught TJ that dreams require hard work, patience, and perseverance. When football or school gets tough, he remembers her journey and knows that giving up is never the answer.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

My proudest moments are watching TJ balance being an athlete, student, teammate, and simply a 9-year-old kid. He practices three hours a day, five days a week, while keeping up with school and his responsibilities at home. Yet he remains humble, soft-spoken, and encouraging to others. He understands that education comes first and that football takes a team. Watching him work hard, stand up for others, and still leave the field smiling makes me incredibly proud.
