What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Tayden loves being part of a team, learning new skills, and constantly pushing himself to improve. Putting on his jersey means representing his teammates, coaches, and something bigger than himself. He loves the adrenaline of running down the field and making a play, and he is grateful for every opportunity to learn from CFL coaches and players. Those experiences motivate him to work harder toward his goal of one day becoming a CFL player himself.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Tayden is inspired by Coach AG, the Elks defensive coach who made a lasting impact on him in only a few months. He taught Tayden to never give up on a play, to hold himself accountable, and to learn from every mistake. Coach AG pushed him to work harder, set bigger goals, and believe in himself. Tayden is also grateful to the Northstars, the team that gave him his start in football and helped build the foundation for the player he is becoming.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment that makes me proudest is watching Tayden turn heartbreak into strength and determination. Shortly after losing his Papa, he tried out for the Edmonton Elks Select team and earned his place. In only one year, he has grown into a stronger, confident athlete. He is returning for his second season with the Northstars and another year with the Elks. He has worked hard, learned from coaches and players, and shown what heart and perseverance can achieve. His Papa would be incredibly proud.
