Thomas was inspired both on and off the field by his grandfather, who was a coach and the one who helped give Thomas his love for the game. His grandfather taught him that football was about more than winning,it was about hard work, teamwork, character, and giving your best. Although his grandfather is no longer here to watch him play, Thomas carries those lessons with him every time he steps on the field. Thomas wants to honor his grandfather and make him proud.
One of the moments that makes me proudest was when Thomas was younger and much smaller. He went up against a kid who was nearly 6 feet tall, and instead of being intimidated, he stepped up without fear. He played with so much heart, determination, and confidence. Watching him stand his ground against someone so much bigger showed me the kind of player he was becoming. That moment has always stayed with me and reminds me that heart, courage, and determination can make all the difference.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
