What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What I love most about baseball is that it constantly challenges me to become better, both as an individual and as a teammate. It teaches me that success comes from hard work, patience and never giving up. Baseball has also taught me important life lessons about handling failure, staying confident, trusting my teammates and always finding a way to improve. Most of all, I love competing, having fun and sharing the game with my teammates.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My parents inspire me the most. They taught me to never give up, believe in myself and have faith in God. They push me to be the best person and player I can be and are always my biggest supporters. Ken Griffey Jr. also inspires me because he showed that baseball should be fun. He always played with joy and never let anger take over. I want to work hard, enjoy the game and always remember why I love baseball.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment that makes me proudest is seeing how far he has come since he was 9. He was once considered a struggling hitter and had difficulty fielding the ball. Instead of letting that define him, he chose hard work, consistency, confidence, faith and determination. Today, he is a starting infielder and hits in the middle of the lineup. Most recently, he led his team in every hitting category at their Cooperstown tournament. His journey proves that belief and perseverance can change everything.
