Trent

What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

When I’m playing sports I feel like I’m in the right place. When things get hard, I like it when my brain turns on and says “Oh you know the answer to this”. It’s like when you have a hard math test that you studied a lot for. That feeling you get when you read the question’s and you start to get excited because you know the answers. But you don’t get excited if you didn’t study. It’s kinda like that with sports, if you practice hard you just know what to do, and it just feels right.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My mom and dad. My Dad doesn’t ever let me give up on my goals and he is always pushing me to work hard. My Mom teaches me how important it is to stay humble and to always be kind.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

There is no single moment. Every time Trent wins a wrestling match he gives his opponent a hug and pats them on the shoulder. Every time Trent tackles a kid on the football field, if they need help getting up, he helps them up. No matter how many times coaches/peers have told him to “Stop being so soft” he still does it. Everyone has learned to just let him do it because it’s just who Trent is. He is able to be a beast but still have compassion and respect for his opponents.
