What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreAt eight years old, Trenton loves learning the strategy behind basketball. He is developing his ability to read the floor, anticipate his opponents’ next moves, and react quickly. His favorite part is using the defensive skills he practices during drills in real games. He takes pride in guarding his opponent, creating turnovers, and helping his team succeed through strong defense.
Trenton’s biggest inspiration off the court is his dad, who has played basketball since he was Trenton’s age. His dad explains the game in a way no one else can, and Trenton looks for him after every game, win or lose. On the court, he admires LeBron James for his scoring and defense. His trainer even nicknamed him “LeBron.”
Overall, I’m extremely proud of Trenton’s growth over the past year. I love watching him take control of the floor, help get his teammates into position, and show leadership during games. What makes me most proud is how he consistently encourages and supports every teammate, whether they win or lose.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
