Ty reads the ice and the field like few kids can. Driven, coachable, and a teammate first — always chasing better.

What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat Ty loves most is being part of something bigger than himself. Lacrosse and hockey give him teammates to laugh with, encourage and build up. He loves being coached and corrected, because every correction is a chance to improve. He loves the challenge too — the physical demand and the mental one — and he has excelled as he's grown into both. He measures himself against one thing: being better than he was the day before.
Ty is inspired by his coaches — the ones who take time with him one on one, teach him mindset alongside skill, set clear expectations and build him up. Because he's so coachable, that attention and those boundaries are exactly what motivate him. His team inspires him too. He loves belonging to something bigger, and that community carries past the final whistle. In the game and out of it, his teammates are his people.
Two seasons into a sport he'd never played, Ty made a lacrosse tournament team. That still amazes us. But the prouder moment was watching a timid kid step into full contact lacrosse and find his inner beast. He's one of the smaller players on the floor, and he has honed his skill and timing until he could go body to body with anyone. His commitment to both sports, and how much fun he has playing them, is what makes us proudest.
