What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Tyler loves rugby because it challenges him physically and mentally while giving him a true sense of belonging. He loves the toughness, teamwork, friendships and the feeling of pushing himself alongside his teammates. Playing for the Aurora Barbarians means even more to him because it feels like family. He takes pride in wearing the Barbarians jersey, competing for his teammates, and being part of a club that values hard work, respect, loyalty and playing for each other

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Tyler is inspired by the coaches, teammates and family members who challenge him to be better every day. On the field, he looks up to players who lead through their actions, work hard and put the team first. Off the field, his family inspires him through their support and example. He respects people who are humble, resilient and willing to work for what they want, and he tries to bring those qualities to everything he does.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment that makes me proudest is when Tyler was named captain and received the Coaches’ Award for his club team. Those honours reflected more than athletic ability—they recognized his leadership, character, work ethic and commitment to his teammates.
