What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Tyson loves the challenge, excitement, and friendships that come with sports. Whether it’s jiu-jitsu, basketball, or swimming, he enjoys learning new skills, pushing himself to improve, and competing against himself as much as others. He loves being part of a team, supporting his teammates, and seeing how hard work pays off. Most of all, sports have helped him build confidence, discipline, and a strong mindset to never give up.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Tyson is inspired by his coaches, teammates, and especially his family. His coaches push him to believe in himself, work harder, and never give up. His teammates inspire him through their dedication and sportsmanship. Off the field, his family reminds him that success comes from discipline, kindness, and perseverance. He looks up to the people who challenge him to become not only a better athlete, but a better person.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I’m most proud of Tyson’s determination at his first ADCC competition. He challenged himself to lose 7 pounds to compete in his proper bracket, showing incredible discipline and commitment. Then he stepped onto the mat in the Intermediate bracket, facing many talented young Jiu-Jitsu athletes. He didn’t back down. He trusted his training, competed with courage, and gave it everything he had. Watching him rise to the challenge made me incredibly proud.
