Learn MoreUriah loves the feeling of throwing, his whole life he’s been throwing in some way. He started off with baseball playing pitcher from 5yo-12yo and then moved on to playing QB in football. But more than anything he loved the simplistic natural feeling of throwing far whether it was a ball or something as simple as a rock.
His biggest inspiration is Olympic thrower Julius Yego and his older brother Allen Alex. Ever since he started throwing javelin in 9th grade he always liked the story of the underestimated Julius Yego, Julius Yego learned everything he knew about javelin from YouTube he made the 2016 Olympics, won gold at the world championships in 2015 at Beijing also, the first man at 5,9 to throw a staggering 92.72m. His brother has always been a positive role model on him and has been more or less a father.
As a Mother seeing my son work day in and day out where at times when I would scold him about chores and after finally doing them he in a fit of emotion goes outside and puts extra work in. It makes me proud to know he finds peace in putting in extra work to be better at his sport. I’ve had to see my son cry after being unfairly denied access to his junior season Regionals and still come back better then before and PR back to back and placing 3rd at nationals.
