What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Will loves competition and to compete, but what he loves most is his bond and friendship with his teammates. He is definitely most himself when he’s with them, especially on road trips and hanging at the hotel as a team. Will get just as excited for a sleepover with teammates as he does for scoring a goal on the ice or a touchdown on the field.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

As Will’s dad, I played professional hockey for many years and I know myself, and my teammates were his inspiration for pushing himself on the ice to become a hockey player. Now as he grows and gets older, he definitely finds inspiration from more places, especially professional athletes at the highest level. When asked he said Conor McDavid from the NHL. What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

From numerous championship games in baseball and hockey and game-winning goals playing on teams that he led in scoring in hockey and football were all very proud moments. All those were topped two Christmases ago when we got his little sister Piper on the ice for the first time and watching him help her learn how to skate and playing with her for hours was definitely my proudest moment of him being a great big brother and sharing something that he loves so much with his younger sibling.
