What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

William loves seeing his hard work and dedication come together during a game. This can be seen in his pitching when he strikes out a player. He also loves when he makes great plays in the outfield and on 1st base. William has struggled with batting, but he has been loving when he gets a double and helps his team offensively. What he loves most is not just the game but the team. William has made great friendships from playing baseball that will last a lifetime. The team becomes a brotherhood.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Gerrit Cole because he is a great pitcher who also has comeback from a pitching injury. He loves how hard Gerrit works before and after the injury. He also takes the time to greet the fans and sign things for them. I got to see him rehab at the somerset patriots game this year and he came back out after playing and signed my glove. Gerrit was really nice.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One moment I am proudest of is the first time I pitched again after my injury. I hadn't been on the mound in a few months. My coach told me I could only throw 25 pitches to slowly start getting back on the mound. In 25 pitches I threw 17 strikes, had 3 strikeouts, and only walked 1 person. It was a great moment, and I was proud of myself along with everyone.
