What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWilliam loves seeing his hard work and dedication come together during a game. This can be seen in his pitching when he strikes out a player. He also loves when he makes great plays in the outfield and on 1st base. William has struggled with batting, but he has been loving when he gets a double and helps his team offensively. What he loves most is not just the game but the team. William has made great friendships from playing baseball that will last a lifetime. The team becomes a brotherhood.
Gerrit Cole because he is a great pitcher who also has comeback from a pitching injury. He loves how hard Gerrit works before and after the injury. He also takes the time to greet the fans and sign things for them. I got to see him rehab at the somerset patriots game this year and he came back out after playing and signed my glove. Gerrit was really nice.
One moment I am proudest of is the first time I pitched again after my injury. I hadn't been on the mound in a few months. My coach told me I could only throw 25 pitches to slowly start getting back on the mound. In 25 pitches I threw 17 strikes, had 3 strikeouts, and only walked 1 person. It was a great moment, and I was proud of myself along with everyone.
