What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What I love most about lacrosse is the timing and connection with my teammates. I have to keep my head on a swivel, understand what’s happening around me, and be ready to make the perfect pass or take the perfect shot. I’ve made a lot of friends through lacrosse and have gotten to play on so many new fields with different teams and players. I also love trying different positions because every one challenges me to learn and grow. I also get to be outside in all weather.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My first football coach, Coach Joe, inspires me on and off the field. He brought me to football and showed me what dedication looks like. He plays in the rain, shows up early, stays late, and is always ready to go. He brings incredible energy and passion to everything he does. He was always the loudest person on the field, other than my mother! His commitment and love for the game inspire me to work hard and never give up.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments watching Xavier wasn’t when he made a club team or spent countless hours practicing. It was watching him volunteer with 5–7-year-olds, teaching them the basics of lacrosse. He kept them focused, laughing, and excited to learn. He patiently retaught the same things over and over, always kind and encouraging. Most importantly, he showed them that lacrosse is about working hard, having fun, and loving the game.
