Zed most loves the camaraderie of competing alongside his teammates and elevating each other to be the best versions of players and of a team that they can be. He loves the grind of the practice field, the weight room, and film sessions. He loves being coached hard, with love by coach Shane Walton, former NFL player and Notre Dame All American. He loves watching his teammates and himself get stronger and faster over the course of the season as they commit to a fitness and nutrition regimen.
Zed is inspired as a man by the integrity, fairness, and compassion of his grandfather, a longtime federal judge. Zed is inspired on the gridiron by former NFL player Julian Edelman, a 7th round pick who was undersized but became a 3X superbowl winner and MVP due to his incredible intelligence, work ethic, quickness/shiftiness, and understanding of the playbook with Tom Brady over raw physical traits.
At age 11, Zed made Sportscenter Top-10 (July 2022) for a diving play he made from second base in a little league All Star game to protect a shutout. He was one of the youngest baseball players to ever be featured on SportsCenter. The following season, that same all star team advanced to the California regional finals and was ranked #22 in the country.
