What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreZoe loves being part of any sport because back in the Philippines, she didn’t have the opportunity to join. In the US school, anyone can have the chance to join a sport and will be supported by coaches who know and do it really well. She always wants to push her limits and loves it when she can actually do it. Being in sports is also her way of being and making new friends, she loves doing it with her classmates and her buddies.
Our school district holds the record for winning state championships in volleyball, wrestling, and cross country (which are her chosen sports), so I think she’s inspired to be a part of it. She enjoys the coaching she gets from her mentors and her friends who’ve been doing the sport longer than she did. I think that’s what inspires her—to live up to and level with the people she looks up to.
My proudest moments are whenever she wears her sports uniform in any game. I’m proud that through her dedication, she is part of the team, and she has the chance to prove herself and to compete for her school.
