What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Zuri loves everything about track, the competition and the unique balance of it being both an individual and team sport. She understands the importance of practicing how you compete, and her coaches will tell you she’s one of the hardest workers out there. But beyond her talent and work ethic, her sportsmanship is unmatched. She truly loves the sport and everything it represents.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Zuri is inspired by greats like Simone Biles, Sha’Carri Richardson, and Jordan Chiles; proof that representation truly matters. She also looks up to her uncle, Olympian bobsledder Hakeem Abdul-Saboor, and, of course, her parents, who passed down her athletic ability and competitive spirit!

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments was seeing Zuri on the podium at the 2026 AAU Junior Olympics. She wasn’t happy with her place, but through tears, she still clapped for every athlete on that stage. That moment showed her true character. Zuri loses and wins with grace. The medals and the accomplishments make me proud, but the person she’s becoming makes me proudest.
