What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Basketball gave me a family & a team. I love that it’s a competitive sport & how it needs communication for you and your team to work. I love that it gets me moving and that I get to have fun while getting in some cardio. I love cheer bc of the confidence, positivity & trust it requires. It’s fun, requires discipline & I love that everyone is respectful to everyone. I have shown dedication & growth to this sport & I want continue to grow with my cheer family.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My cheer coach Mrs. Codi inspires me bc no matter what she’s going through in her daily life, she’s always there. She is always smiling, even if she’s had the worst day. Her smiling makes me smile bc not everyday is easy. She pushes me to reach my goals and I love that I have a coach that cares about me on and off the field. If im ever losing hope im reminded that anything is possible if i just don’t give up.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Her growth & watching that growth unfold year after year. I’ve seen her push through tough practices, bounce back from setbacks, & face challenges that would’ve made others give up. She showed up with heart & determination. She’s no longer the same girl who started this journey. She’s grown into a confident, resilient young woman who knows her worth on & off the field. That’s what makes makes me proud bc success isn’t just about athletic ability, it’s about the person you become along the way.
