My son draws deep inspiration from his father, coaches, and his favorite player, Shohei Ohtani. His father has been his first and biggest supporter, teaching him the fundamentals, showing him what hard work looks like, and always reminding him to play with heart and humility. His coaches push him to grow not just as an athlete, but as a young kid instilling discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Watching Ohtani play inspires him to dream big and work hard.
When Malaeti’a went to his very first baseball tournament, it was a big moment for him. Even though his team didn’t come out with a win, what stood out the most wasn’t the score it was Malaeti’a’s heart, leadership, and sportsmanship. Instead of getting discouraged, he immediately shifted his mindset and reminded everyone around him that every game is a chance to grow. One by one, he went to each teammate and told them something positive they did during the game.
